Probus had the opportunity to help sponsor Nancy, the Assistant Warehouse Manager, to do relief work in Haiti. In addition, the Shipping Department contributed towards the purchase of much-needed medical supplies for the hospitals in Haiti. Nancy worked with a team of 13 other people to help run a temporary hospital in the town of Leogane, which is just outside of Port au Prince.
The following is a summary of Nancy’s trip and her reflection on the situation in Haiti:
“I had the opportunity to travel to Haiti in May with an organization called World Wide Village (WWV). I was part of a medical team that staffed a temporary field hospital and outpatient clinic for about eight days. As a certified nursing assistant, I worked in the triage tent for the outpatient clinic…”
Continue ReadingSeveral Probus employees participated in the Tilt the Kilt lawn bowling event at Brit’s Pub in Minneapolis. The event was held to benefit Catalyst Community Partners, a nonprofit organization with a mission to “revitalize key commercial corridors in distressed urban neighborhoods by developing real estate and sustainable businesses to meet community needs and provide neighborhood jobs.”

Probus OneTouch was featured on local news channel 12 in the northwest metro. The video feature gives an overview of our business, touches on the founding and history of Probus, and takes the viewer on a virtual tour of the warehouse and office. George Lee and Tom McCullough, owners of Probus OneTouch, founded a nonprofit foundation to help economically disadvantaged adults overcome barriers to employment. Jobs Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that employs people who want to work but don’t have work skills or they have a personal history that prevents them from being hired by anyone.
The video below highlights the impact that Jobs Foundation has had on one individual and his family by giving hope and purpose to life.
Jobs Foundation is a nonprofit business with the mission of helping economically disadvantaged adults overcome barriers to employment. Jobs are the foundation to become financially independent.

Probus OneTouch was featured in Deal Radar 2010 by Sramana Mitra. The article explores the history of Probus OneTouch and the background of its founders as well as the factors that have contributed to the company’s success.
Perhaps the most famous quote is president George Lee’s comment when asked about his plans for an exit: “Exit, ha. Retirement is doing what you love. I am retired and spend 50 to 60 hours a week doing what I love. I hope to exit in a horizontal box.”

Continue ReadingProbus OneTouch, Inc. hosted a blood drive in partnership with Memorial Blood Centers on March 10, 2010. This drive was coordinated by the Probus IT department. Employees and their families and friends volunteered to donate blood and save lives.

Courage Adaptive Ski and Snowboard provides 1600 ski and snowboard lessons each season for people with physical disabilities. The program is a part of Courage Center, a Minnesota-based rehabilitation and resource center that advances the lives of children and adults experiencing barriers to health and independence.

The Shipping and Admin Department at Probus OneTouch has cooked and served meals for the emergency shelter at St. Stephen’s Human Services on several occasions. St. Stephen’s mission is “to end homelessness through services to support the homeless and those in extreme poverty.”

The Customer Service team in Kansas City donated 4 hours towards making BackSnacks for children of low income families. These food packages provide much-needed nourishment through the weekend to children who otherwise might go hungry. The BackSnacks program, started in 2004 by Harvesters, currently serves over 10,000 children every week in the Greater Kansas City area.

Six teams from Probus raced down Buck Hill on mattresses in a fundraiser event for Bridging, a nonprofit organization that seeks to bridge the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots” by providing quality furniture and household items to families in need.
